Ficlets there is indeed a theme this episode, and it's, well, the abscence of a certain thing shall we say. While the theme might've started as a silly joke, we found surprisingly touching throughlines in all of our fics with portrayls of varying types of intimacy and recurring stories that we are drawn to tell over and over.

There's still plenty of great content here, with questions of what love can be, trauma as a means of character building, and making up with your ex via an overseas heist.

Here at Fic Clique we love a good rule of three, which is why we've got three hosts, (usually) three fics, and ... three years of the pod? That's right, it's Fic Clique's third anniversary!!

After asking you all what you'd like to see in this episode we brought back some ficlet favorite bits, answered some questions, and took some time to be in our feelings about this little podcast that we do. Of course there's plenty of wack content to enjoy too, with everything from "counter culture" categorizations to the return of Nic's hit slam poetry. What a wild and wonderful journey these three years have been; thank you for being by our side, and we hope you enjoy all that's yet to come.

[Earth, Wind & Fire voice] Do you remember / these fics we discussed in September? Well, your hosts... sort of did. This month's themed episode is Remember September, where we brought fics from way back in our reading histories. We were delighted to find that they still held so many things we love, like repeated work at communicating, epistolary-adjacent developing relationships, and fully realized adult identities.

We're sure she would appreciate this episode's dissections of humans as meaning makers, the intricacies of song fic, and monstrosity as an allegory for queerness.

In this second installment of our monthly themed episodes, we're bringing to you: You Lie July! Where all of the fics had to feature -- you guessed it -- lying. The shape of these fics looked a little different than what we initially expected, but we still enjoyed talking about delightfully indulgent tropes, wanting to take the world at face value, and everyone's favorite neutral librarian.
